Living as a sponge

Absorbs everything

It’s hard to live as

A sponge

Absorbing everyone’s emotions

My husband says my heart is big

But it’s hard to feel everything

So unfiltered

So raw

Makes me wish

I was a rock

Indestructible

But I’m soft

Absorbing everything like a sponge

Like nutrients and food

I feel every word

Comment.

Good or bad

Get absorbed into my heart

I feel each one

Much like a sponge

All the nutrients it absorbs

I’m the same

Living as a sponge.

 

Psalm 23 1-3

 The Lord is my shepherd. He gives me everything I need.  He lets me lie down in fields of green grass. He leads me beside quiet waters. He gives me new strength.
