Going on Dates

The importance of going dates.

Jman and I have been married for eight years; there are some days that it feels like just yesterday and other I am surprised that it’s not longer than that. One thing that we have tried to do in our marriage is to go on dates.

On Friday night we were able to go to dinner and see a movie, and just spend 4 hours not worrying about life. And this is key to our relationship.

Jman and I in our eight years of marriage have often worked multiple jobs to make ends meet, and we are kind of in a season right now where both of us, have one. Jman works many more hours than me and his work are more physical, so at the end of a busy week, we are both tired.

Going on dates with your spouse is essential!! Jman and I strive to do date night once a month. We usually go to dinner and a movie. Jman and I love watching movies. We often go to the latest superhero flick. Some movies are my top list just because I’ve seen them with Jman and they bring back fond memories. Movies like Hitch and Tangled, Hitch was the movie we saw on a date that felt like the first date. We had been a couple of other dates before this but this one was on valentines day, we had dinner with Jeremiah’s family and then went to a movie. It was a double date, and the other two people who were there with us fell asleep during the movie. But Jman held my hand, and it was so sweet. Today Hitch is one of my favorites. Tangled was the first movie we saw as a married couple. Tangled  I loved so much that usurped the other top 3 Disney movies.

Another date we like to go on is: Picnic. Whether it be sandwiches, chips, fruit and Iced tea or going to the store and using whatever money we have to buy somethings that look good. I love going on picnics.  It is just about finding a secluded stop by the water and relaxing.

We love to play Pokemon Go. Okay, I’m sure everyone has their own opinions about this. I like it because it’s a relatively cheap activity and it gets Jman and I walking. It is a fun game we play on our phones.

You know I love the zoo. Jman and I like to take in a zoo day and walk around and relax.

We even try to go on dates while we are on vacation. I know what your thinking, you are already spending money on holiday. But taking time out of the hustle and bustle of even being on vacation is essential.

One thing remarkable about going on a date is just spending time together. Usually, my attitude and Jman’s attitude is better, and we get a chance to talk, spend time together, and finally not communicate through text messages.

Another thing about dates is that you get to see the world through the other person’s eyes. Often we go and walk the mall window shop together and seeing what the other person is gravitating.

Jman and I have made date  san priority and that important. I would challenge you to make time with your spouse and go on a date.

Isaiah 62:5 New Living Translation (NLT)

5 Your children will commit themselves to you, O Jerusalem,

just as a young man commits himself to his bride.

Then God will rejoice over you.

as a bridegroom rejoices over his bride.

TTFN and God Bless you and Keep you.
