Where has normal gone?

Has it floated out to sea?

Is it looking for me?

Is it in a sunset?

A sunrise?

Afternoon snack?

Where has normal gone?

Is life still the same?

It was once upon.

Is this a futileness cause?

To strive for normalcy?

Where has normal gone?

Is it in a home?

Or even a room?

Is it in a box tucked away?

Small familiar touches.

Where has normal gone?

Is it a lover’s embrace?

Or a friends warm smile?

 A hope?

 A wish.

Where has normal gone?

Do I need to accept defeat?

Is this a lost cause?

To strive for normalcy?

Clean clothes?

Pain free days.

Will I ever be?

Normal

Or normalcy

A dream 

Never forgotten but never attained

John 3: 5-8 Dear friend, you are being faithful to God when you care for the traveling teachers who pass through, even though they are strangers to you. ⁶ They have told the church here of your loving friendship.
